100th Post

Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy Me!

This is my 100th Post

It took me two whole years to achieve this.

Let's drink to that.

I want to thank you all for all the love and support. I want to (specially) thank those that posted my "Show me the way" banner at a particular point of the year.

Compliments of the season Folks! Jesus is the reason for the season. Let's not forget to give him thanks.

I am blessed to be a part of the "blogsville experience." It's been a long year with so many good memories...blogsville idol 08, 14th and serenity, and so on.

I am thankful this season. I am very grateful to God because I believe I am very close to my breakthrough. How do I know this with all the trials I'm facing? Despite my being unemployed for the past 6 months (yes o...and i try but yall don't know how bad the economy is in MI); God has been faithful in my life. I have the best family and friends that support me with words of wisdom. I have been able to cope financially because I saved for rainy days. Now I am thoroughly broke and beautiful. I give thanks still.

I give thanks because 5 of my cousins are visiting (from ATL) for xmas. I have not seen them in 2 years. I have not even seen the baby of the house at all.

I give thanks for my mother. Although we've had our share of troubles this year, she's been a backbone for me. She's supportive and loving; she's the best. That's mom in the midst of some of her friends.

I give thanks because I have a wonderful man in my life. A man that will do anything (including swim through a river filled with hungry crocodiles) to put a smile on my face. `Just thinking about how much he cares and loves me makes life worth living. Yall know the feeling now...all you need to have is that one person and it feels like you have the whole universe.

I give thanks for Olamild Entertainments. I have come a long way and i couldn't have done it on my own. It all started in summer 2007 and we've accomplished so much. View OLAMILD GALLERIA to see pictures from past events.

I give thanks for my younger siblings. They are clowns and they light up my world. They rep 9ja and the yoruba culture any day any time. Somehow they manage to know how I am feeling even when i don't say so. When i do feel down and look down, they gang up and tease me....saying stuffs like it is well o my sister, Mr. prince charming will ask 4 your hand in marriage by this time next week. How can i stay down after hearing such words? hahahah

I give thanks for all my friends. I give special thanks for my girl Nay Nay. I just thank God for standing by her because it's not easy to be a single parent. I recall when she called to say she was getting married... how i thought it was too soon and when she called to say she was getting a divorce + she's pregnant. I recal the baby shower...she just looked like she had a basket ball inside her blouse lol ...she didn't gain any weight. It was a very tough phase but I thank God for her life and that of her baby Jaydn. I thank God for being faithful and standing by her throughout the whole situation. Look at them today. I love my lil God son.

I give thanks for the numerous talents bestowed on me. I give thanks for the opportunity I have had this year. I give thanks for the Redeemed Christian Church of God all over Michigan; they've given me the opportunity to share my music and minister to youths at different occasions. I specially thank the mountain of the lord parish and winner's chapel. That's (pink) me with the RCCG winner's chapel choir at Flavor of Praise , an event hosted by RCCG MOTL.

I give thanks for Yoruba Youth Corporation. We started in july 2008 and we've accomplished so much in less than 6 months. Our cultural dancers are the best. Click image to see website.

I give thanks for this baby girl Pelumi. I have been known to love babies. I actually witnessed the birth of this girl and it was a blessed experience so to say. I was scared to death because i had the video camera and was told to record. At one point, I sat down and fan myself even though it was and is winter time. uhmmm now I'm scared of giving birth. I still love babies o and this is my newest god daughter. She's a month old now. Bad old me! Them tell me to babysit.. i dey take pictures for where she dey sleep..

Alicia keys' No one (Yoruba Version) will be out before this year runs out...stay tuned lol

I give thanks for my motherland Nigeria...I gats to rep 9ja all the time...especially on Independence day. This was oct 1, 2008. You can take the gurls outta bush but u can't take the bush outta them.

I give thanks for you. Yes you! I give thanks because you are alive to read this post. I thank you for being there. Merry Xmas and Happy New Year in advance. See you in 2009.

BACK!

I missed you!
Yeah you! lol

The program was a huge success
I give glory to God almighty for his infinite mercies.
You should have been there
We hyped up the audience with our opening act
two of our best dancers danced "Roll It" by P Square.
They were back flipping, break dancing and sturves shuuu
even me self dey tempted to sommersault.

We had guests from Birmingham, London, Texas, New York, Maryland, Canada and so on.
My favorite motivational speaker Dayo Israel rocked the audience
with some old yoruba songs and adages.
The food was superb
I almost ate my fingers.

I almost cried at the beginning
cause I was so nervous about how the whole thing would turn out
but I was surrounded by the best people on planet earth.

Chaiii i suffer small o
con see full house
7 African guys wey no wan cook
They had me in the kitchen from friday - tuesday.

Iya afin monilola Tenabe of Egbe omo yoruba (Washington DC)
graced the audience with her presence.
She was a sweetheart...
I know I am going back and forth
I cannot even find the right words to explain how great the event was.

I want to thank everyone that had me in prayers
The devil tried but he failed
God had and has a purpose for me.
After the whole program, I was battling some health issues
and I went for surgery on Friday (Aug 1)
My mum was praying wherever she was
and sparkle was there to put a smile on my face.
I thank God today I am hail and hearty.
I have to call and thank Pastor Dayo
cause all the guys were laughing at me
when I told them not to touch my caprisun
that I bought it so Pastor could pray on it.
Yeye guys tok say ahn ahn
We know pastors pray on water not caprisun
You're trying to be classy with your probs lol
Of course them tiff some of it before the prayers.

In a nutshell

We planned an event and it was successful
I went for surgery and it was successful
Yoruba Youth Corporation/Cultural Dancers have been invited to Maryland
from the 7th - 10th of August to perform at the EOY national convention
Yinka Aiyefele is the live artiste.

I look forward to have a swell time in Washington DC this coming weekend

Just Yesterday

I saw a lioness
turn to a lamb.

I was in the library and thoughts of her came to me
I sent a text message asking her if she was home
She said yeah so I gave her a call.
I am tired o. Your house is close to school
I just need to rest my head for a while.
I have an evening class though
Okay... guess what?
I have bad news for you!, she said
I asked her what was going on
and she told me she couldn't say it on the phone.

I headed straight to her house
I greeted everyone
They smiled and said hi
That was unusual...
No one's picking on me
No one's telling me how I need to trim my eyebrows
Is everything okay?, I asked.

She looked at me and looked at her sisters
Everyone was silent for almost a minute
In a chorus, they said "My father died"

Oh! Oh no! Oh waow!
this is too much for me to handle
Oh God!

I looked in their faces and I saw them try to fight the tears.
They had been called from Nigeria
they were told he was sick on sunday
and died on monday midnight.

It was too much for me to bear
Words could not be said
Feelings could not be expressed.
I picked up my pen and paper
Within 5 minutes,
I wrote two poems
One titled "Out of sight is never out of mind" and "H-O-M-E"

I shared it with them and I could
read their minds just by looking into their eyes.
They took the written piece from me
and placed it on the shelf.
Some of them went out to find
black attires for their mother.

She sat by me
We were alone
She looked at me
and she said
This life is too short
Imagine me having sleepless night over a pair of shoe
getting bothered by material thing
when someone is out there dying.

I'm sorry.

She got up and walked to the kitchen
to answer one of the numerous
phone calls she had been receiving.
For the first time in 3 years,
I heard her broke down
I saw a lioness turn to a lamb
She was the strongest of all my friends
She was the "no nonsense chick."
She was the one with strength
to fight tears
and here she was helpless.

she got off the phone
came back to me
Looked me in the eye and said
"Olamild I am fatherless
On father's day
I'm gonna look up to the sky
and say happy father's day to thin air."

No words can describe the pain I felt when
those words came out of her mouth.
I was there from 11:15 a.m. to 10 p.m.
I felt the family's pain and
I just want yall to pray for this family
I cannot mention the last name
because they are yet to tell one of the children
because she is away from home.
They do not know how she will take it
especially being alone where she is.

Please pray for my friend.
She's very dear to me
Pray that God sends comfort to that home
because they really need it.

So..so confused

Just two days ago,
I went to my aunt's place
You remember Master C?
I chilled with him and D don for a while.
When it was time for me to go to my evening class,
Master C told me I couldn't go that he had a gift for me
I'm like hmm what's it gonna be this time?
the shrek doll u got from Mickey D?
the kung fu panda toy u got from chuck e cheese?
or the transformers toy mama got you?

He just smiled and went upstairs
He heard me slam the door and he goes
"Aunty OLAMILDDDDDDD! I know you're not leaving
when I told you not to"
"I'm right here boo, I was just closing the door to prevent
the flies from coming in." I replied.
He came downstairs with his hands behind his back
He looked at me and said
" I know I give you a lot of trouble
but you've been good to me
and I thought I should give you this."

He handed me a book.
I looked at the title and it said Praying for purpose for women
a prayer experience that will change your life forever.
I didn't bother to ask him how he got it
I could not smile, I could not cry
I just didn't know how to react
I was astonished. I hugged him and left.
I raced to my car and I shook in fear.
I asked myself when was the last time I really prayed?
I use to be the one that prayed all the time

I use to be the one that talked to God
about everything
I mean everything... one time I asked God how come I don't have hips?
I said God why big thighs? why not hips? abi i no deserve figure 8...
that just gives u a clue about how I open up to God.

It dawned on me
I had gone through so much in the past couple of months
Instead of me to run to God and seek comfort, help
I run away from him
I go about singing praises to him
and helping others
when I'm the one who really needs help

I am an aspiring Law student (Corporate Law to be precise)
I have switched courses like crazy
WHY?
My dreams differ from that of my parents
and OLAMILD is supposed to do whatever they say
After all , many Nigerian parents use her as an example for their kid
She leads the church choir
She sings at weddings, birthdays, anniversaries
She's respectful
She's a yoruba lady and respect is the most important thing in the culture.
They told her to go to school to be a Pharmacist
She chose Law, which is her passion
She started off taking pharmacy pre-requisites but it just wasn't for her
In anytime they are going to find out
what she has done
and all hell will break loose.

The last thing I want is for people to change
their views about me
but I have to live for me.
That's what sparkle says
stop thinking about what people say
follow your heart.

`Just got out of an 8 yrs relationship
and God knows I need prayers.
I need it more than anything.
In the past couple of months,
I have written close to 5 songs that I have done nothing with
I just sing it in my head, in my car and just forget it.
I have been running away from what I need the most = PRAYERS

It's sad
but it's very encouraging
that God just used a 5 yr old (Yes, Master C is 5 now)
to tell me that he is still there
ready to help me.
All he asks is that I put my hand in his hands
and let him have his way.

PRAY 4 me pleaseeeeeeeee.....

Ohhh I remember

I remember my december. You all know that kids can be a hand full. They eat, play, smile and do everything you tell them not to do. You all know that I had one post last month because it was a very busy month for me....the schedule's still tight but HOW ARE YOU GUYS? i don miss una o. Shout out to Opekzy, Ugo, diary, fantasy, jaycee, little miss me, nameless poetical, jaybabe, arewa, princess, sha, ONB, QOMC, writefreak, andy....the list goes on and on. Thank you all for your love and support.

Anyway, my aunt called me on one of those days (december) and said she was attending a nigerian party with her hubby. She said she needed me to babysit her two sons and her friend's kids (1 boy, 1 girl). I guess kids were not allowed at the party. She said they were to take off at 5 pm and wouldn't be back till 4am or so...I packed my bag {sleeping mask, lotion, tooth brush, pyjamas...} and headed there.

4 kids: {running towards me...almost knocking me down} Yayyyyyy aunty is here

Olamild: [smiles] How are you? Oya sit down jare.

Their parents were all dressed up and ready to leave. They told me what everyone needed. My aunt said to give the little boy, pediasure. Her friend's husband said to give his son "more rice and stew" because that's all he eats and he'll keep asking for more. I replied "yall look lovely... oya bye bye." As soon as they were gone ehn, these kids started their wahala. Trust me, I am used to kids o but i no like wahala at all. Let me introduce you to Lady A, B boy, Master C, and D don.
C and D are my aunt's son. A and B are her friend's kids.

A is a 6 yr old girl with suku braids and beads.
B is a 5 yr old boy that loves rice and stew
C is a 4 yr old intelligent boy that will tell u the sun's out, it's good night not good morning.
D is the 2 yr old boy whose favorite words are "NO" and "hunhun" {his way of saying hell no}

Olamild: I am preparing some rice right now. Everyone of you is going to eat dinner at 7pm. You're going to bed by 8 or 9. It will not exceed 9pm o. Got it?

Nobody answered me of course cause they were busy enjoying one boring cartoon like that. I love cartoons o but the one they were watching was ridiculous. I decided to keep myself busy by re arranging their toys..folding all the blankets they threw on the floor. I noticed that D don was looking at me so I asked him if he wanted anything. I don't have to tell you his response. You all know his favorite word.

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* @ 6 pm
~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Lady A: hahahahah he got him real bad. Yes he did. Look B boy

B Boy: {smiling} Yes yes

Olamild: [changing the topic of course] who loves Shrek III?

Master C: I love shrek the third.

B Boy: Me too.

Olamild: And you? [facing D don]

D don: {shrugs} hun hun

Olamild: [imitating him] hmm hmm abi? hahaha you just make me laugh when you do that. Is anyone ready to eat. It's 6:30 pm and I am ready. Who's ready? Talk now, talk now o.

Master C: I'm ready aunty olamild.

Olamild: Lady A, B boy, D don, what about you guys?

Lady A: We're not ready.

I'm thinking to myself... them fit talk say them wan chop when i begin chop now o and cheii if them try that kain thing ehn. Anyway I headed to the kitchen and Master C followed me. I prepared my food and that of Master C. I saw D don roaming around and I'm like do you want to eat now...

D don: No

I gave master C his food and water. I instructed him not to talk while eating. He insisted on seating by my side and we started eating. About 2 mins after,

B Boy: I'm ready now

Olamild: Oh no you didn't [half smile, half frown]

Master C: She asked you if you wanted to eat and you said no.

Olamild: No talking while eating mister.

Lady A: {with the cutest smile} aunty olamild, we're ready now.

See these kids now. Here I am enjoying my rice with solid fried stew and 9ja chicken laps...and these kids want to interfere with my enjoyment. Una go wait until I chop finish o cause i am not going anywhere.

Olamild: Oya follow me to the kitchen now.

Can you believe they didn't answer me. They were so into the TV and there i was preparing their food. I screamed their names and trust me they did not wait for a sec before answering me. We all sat on the floor (living room) and enjoyed our meals. Mind you, D don asked for pediasure and we didn't have any so I begged him to eat rice. He said NO. HE then sat by me as I ate my own food.

Olamild: D don d bobo. Chop rice now.

D don: hun hun

Olamild: Okay.

I put some rice on my spoon and attempted to feed him. He did not hesitate to eat o. I looked at him like you this boy. You're hungry but you're so fond of saying No and you want to starve yourself. He ate most of my rice o.

B Boy: I want more rice and stew

Olamild: [lost in thoughts] How could he possibly want more? I was told he loves rice and stew so i made the largest plate for him. Him rice plenty pass my own o. Chineke save me.

Lady A: He really likes rice. Just give him more.

I went to the kitchen and made two separate plates of rice and I told him to grab one and grab the other later if he still wants more. Don't ask me if he ate it all o

~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~* Around 7: 20 pm ~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*

Lady A: Aunty please tell master C to leave me alone. I am drawing a candy bag. He says it looks like a masqurade and he's trying to take the paper from me.

Olamild: Naughty Master C. You better behave yourself before I send you to bed.

B Boy: Leave my sister alone C.

A few minutes later, I saw master C ripping off Lady A's alphabet book. Before I could say anything, she ran to me saying did you see what he did? It took me time to write that and he tore it apart.

Olamild: Oya left right. Forward march to your bedroom

Master C: {about to shed crocodile tears} but I ..

Olamild: I said go to bed mister. You stay there one more minute and you'll get spanked.

Lady A wanted to know if I liked her drawing. I just had to like the color gyration. D don looked like he was sleepy so i placed him on the couch and covered him with a blanket. About 3 minutes later, I hear someone coming down the stairs and i looked up to see Master C halfway down the stairs...

Master C: Aunty Olamild, I need to talk to you. {halfway down the stairs}

Olamild: Go ahead sweetie

Master C: I want to make a promise.

Olamild: [i could not help it] haahahahahh yes

Master C: I promise to be nice to Lady A. I won't disturb her drawings and writings anymore. Please let me watch tv. I promise to tell her I'm sorry.

Olamild: Go ahead

Master C: A lady, I'm sorry for tearing your paper. I will be nice

Olamild: If I let you watch tv, you will not disturb anyone else because if u do , I will...

Master C: Spank me

I saw Lady A holding Master C's hands and they came down stairs to watch tv. We sat down in circles and talked about ratatouille, over the hedge, shrek I, II, and III, Ice age and so on..Lady A excused herself and went to the restroom. I went to the kitchen to grab a cup of water. I came back to see Master C and B Boy fighting over a piece of paper. I looked at the time and it was 8:30 pm.

Olamild: Master C, B boy, Go upstairs now and get in bed. Go on, get..

D don followed them while i cleaned up the living room. Lady A came to see why the tv was off. I told her it was time for bed and she headed up the stairs. By the time I got upstairs, they were in their pyjamas and in their separate rooms/beds. I went to Lady A and B boy' room to pray with them.

Lady A: In jesus name

B Boy: Amen

Lady A: Father lord don't let any cockroaches or anything poisonous come to us. Don't let any lions, tigers, or snakes appear in our dreams

B Boy: Yes amen, I don't...i don't like snakes.

I could not help laughing but I was serious because it was prayer time.

Lady A: Lord please give our parents money to buy clothes, houses and nice cars. Empower us with your holy spirit. We cover ourselves with the blood of jesus.

B Boy: Blood of Jesus

I had to admit I was impressed.. She prayed and said goodnight and sweet dreams. As I was about to leave their room, she called

Lady A: Aunt Olamild {bringing out two teddy bears} Won't you say good night to the princesses?

Olamild: Forgive me my dear. Good night princesses. Sweet dreams B boy. Sleep well Lady A.

I headed to Master C and D don's room. D don was wrestling with the pillow while Master C was pretending to be asleep.

Olamild: Good boy. Close your eyes and pray for us.

Master C: Me?

Olamild: Yes you. Pray for us.

Master C: Jesus the king will come. Jesus the king will come and save us

Olamild: Amen??

Master C: Jesus the king will see us and Jesus the king..uhmm rescue us in times of trouble

Olamild: [fervently] Amen

Master C: Jesus the king... my parents went to the african party and I wanted to go with them but they said I couldn't go. Jesus the king, I like nigerian parties, let them take me with them next time.

Olamild: Amen hahahahahah aunty must hear this one.

Master C: In jesus name I pray

Olamild: Amen. It's your turn D don.

D don: hun hun

About OLAMILD- 8 weird things

As the lord liveth, the glory of the lord shall not be quenched in my life (Amen). This was what we recited at church yesterday. We are having a 3 days program at church; it started yesterday and it's being great. Pastor Komolafe from Toronto, Canada preached yesterday. He wil be preaching today again and Pastor Solomon Odejayi from Chicago will be rounding it up on sunday. I have been blessed and I'm not afraid to share it. I will blog about this crusade later on but here's a prayer point 4 yall.... I overcome and overpower every giant threatning problems in my life in the mighty name of Jesus... oya pra pray pray o. Oh yeah, i have the whole week off from school (thanksgiving break) . Princesa tagged me. I guess I'm to share 8 weird things about me so here it is... Happy Reading

(8) I don't drink cold stuffs. I have to have it hot or warm. You wonder how I drink orange juice or cold drink from the fridge. It's easy. I pour it into a cup and put it in the microwave. Everyone in my family thinks I'm wierd because of this. Na them sabi. When I go to parties, I ask for water because most of the drinks are cold. The reason why I don't drink cold stuffs is because it steals my voice. Give me a cold drink and my voice is gone in 5 mins. I have to strain myself when I talk.

(7) HAhaha this one is making me laugh sef. When I brush, people get scared. Apparently, I brush in a loud manner. I cough and scream...**Brushing** harggggghqwlcuuu k pu pu ....sis runs into the bathroom once to see if i was okay. She hissed when she realized i was only brushing my teeth. WHat can I say? i got that from daddy... If i come for a sleepover and I'm shouting while in the bathroom, don't get scared.. .I'm just brushing my teeth.

(6) I am obsessed with stuffed animals (teddy bears to be precise). Friends buy me teddy bear as bday gifts or xmas gift and i love `em more than anything. I've got coco, tade, chaz, yetunde, snoop n so on... Ok whatever. My teddy bear have names. Guess what? they share my bed with me.

(5) Whenever I'm not doing anything with my hands (i.e cooking, typing) , I keep both of them between my thighs. Don't ask me why. I don't even know sef...

(4) I have a birth mark shaped like the moon on one of my arms. My birth marks are usually shaped like (dot) ... just one of it though. I have one on my inner lip. is this wierd sef? i no even know anyway... I did this once and I'll never do it again. --> wrapped both legs around my neck. I was idle... I guess i watched too much wrestling and I decided to see how flexible i was. Don't think I'm krazie....oh well yea just once a year

(3) I LOVE WRESTLINGGGGGGG... SMackdown, RAW,u name it. I don't wrestle but I'd love to. It's my favorite show on TV. I love john cena, batista, shawn michaels, triple H, n so on.

(2) This sister can pick stuffs up with two toes( the big fat one and the one next to it). I pick pen, pencil, trash.... raise it up to wherever i want to put it. If I saw a paper on the floor and I don't feel like picking it with my hand, I use my toes.

(1) `Don't really know how to hiss. If you do something to me and I hiss, you'll think I'm trying to kiss someone. Don't laugh at me o. I practice hissing and I never get it right but I hiss anyway **hisses**

Hope you all are looking forward to a great THANKSGIVING weekend. GOD BLESS YALL. Special thanks to nameless poetical for helping me with my short new worship song. I tag unnaked soul, fantasy queen and arewa. Ciao

A Powerful Prayer

By Pastor TD Jakes

This prayer takes about one minute!
Pray it sincerely, and then those you send it to will pray for you!
'When you are DOWN to nothing,..
God is UP to something Father,
in the Name of Jesus, bless me even while I'm reading this prayer and bless the one that sent this to me in a special way.
Open supernatural doors in our lives today.
Save and set free!
Give us a double portion of your Spirit as we take back everything
that the devil has stolen: Emotional Health, Physical Health, Finances, Relationships, Children, Jobs, Homes, Marriages.
I cancel every plot, plan and scheme the enemy has devised against us in the MATCHLESS NAME OF JESUS.
AndI declare: NO WEAPON FORMED AGAINST US WILL PROSPER.
I speak LIFE into every dead situation.
And, I thank you that nothing is over until YOU say it's over!
I speak prophetically into our lives and to our situations:
Our households are blessed;
Our health is blessed;
Our marriages are blessed;
Our finances are blessed;
Our businesses are blessed,
Our jobs are blessed;
Our children are blessed;
Our grandchildren are blessed;
Our parents are blessed;
ur siblings are blessed;
Our ministries are blessed; and,
Our decisions are blessed.
Our success in this Semester's Exams is assured,
Husbands are on the way;
Wives are on the way;
Mortgages are paid and debts canceled;
Our hearts' desires are on the way;
according to YOUR perfect will and plan for our lives. IN JESUS' NAME! AMEN!

Say this prayer, then send it to EVERYBODY YOU KNOW. Within hours countless people will have prayed for you, and you will have caused a multitude of people to pray to God for each other.

Prayers

ORIENTATED NAIJA BABE BIRTHDAY

Numerous events are taking place all over the world. You've probably thought about partaking in it but did you? We celebrated our 47th year of being Independent. what do we have to show for it? We all made new year resolutions before the beginning of 2007. what exactly did we follow? what did we achieve?

Ask yourself what you've achieved in this year that's coming to an end. Do not lie to yourself. How many times did you pray this year? How many times do you pray in a week? Think about all the tragedy we've all experienced since january. Why are we here? How come we're not gone like those people? Think about the fire explosion that just occured in Nigeria. Think about the poor and needy. Are you better than them? I am asking you all this because I have come to realise that Life without Prayer is nothing. We are not better than those that are gone. We're here because of God's grace. If prayer was the only thing that kept you alive, you might say you're alive by your might. I want you to know that you are being prayed for when you refuse to pray. There's (at least) one person out there praying for you.

Sometimes you hear someone say,
"We've done all we can.
The only thing we can do now is pray."

Prayer really should be our first resort rather than our last resort.

Jesus gave us the Lord's Prayer,
as a model prayer and Jesus himself
often went off to pray,
setting an example for us to do the same.

If Jesus needed to go off and pray,
how much more do we need to?
Praying should not be something we do out of duty and routine.
Prayer is talking and listening to our loving, all knowing, heavenly Father.

Prayer shows our dependence on God,
his power and His wisdom.
Prayer is powerful and so important.

Studies have been done in the medical fieldshowing the power of prayers.
They used two groups of people to observe the difference
between the group that was being prayed for and the group that wasn't.
There was a marked difference in the recovery of those who were being prayed for,
and they weren't even told that they were being prayed for.
Why not pray for someone today? Why not pray for yourself? If you don't know whom to pray for, start by praying for london buki's mom, pink satin's cousin, 2face (he got shot), and so on...If we pray together, we'll achieve everything.

My First Rant on Blogville

I don't usually rant but I will today just for fun...so make una bear with me and read something different 4 a change.

phoshhhhhhhhhhhhh ahn ahn water land on my head 4 my sleep ... roof dey leak? I looked up to see my mum sprinkling prayer water everywhere. We brought the water from the 3 days program we attended and we were told to sprinkle it all over the house and ward off evil.. na why my mama con pour water 4 my head now 4 where i been dey sleep?....... nway I couldn't sleep afterwards. this was around 5:45 a.m. mind you.

My summer was going to be boring so I took a seasonal position at my school bookstore. It's being stressful with the rush from students trying to purchase their books for the fall semester. One particular girl's been on my case and it's driving me nuts. Everything was stressful as usual but I was no one to complain cause the manager enjoyed making me do all the work (maybe no one else is competent). Nway male manager con leave early and na female manager dey there and she busy... A co worker walks up to me "do you want to vacuum? we want to leave at 7 p.m." " Hmm maybe but not now.. I am not done ringing up items and I still need to arrange my counter." .. She leave me con go do some work.. Next thing this yeye girl wey don dey on my case come talk say " Lovita, go and vacuum that floor now. I want to get out of here at 7"...see me see wahala? who she dey command? I said ok and went back to stapling receipts and arranging counter.

Another guy wey don dey take style vex me last week come beg me to vacuum sha. I started vacuuming.. na so that gurl talk say i miss some spots.. I think 4 my mind say u want comot for 7 abi? nobody fit leave this place until I finish vacuuming.. 7 go pass before i finish... The yeye vaccum sef no pick up any dirt so I asked wat to do " Well a new vaccum is in the back room , get it and vacuum this floor so we can leave" I looked at her and shaked my head... The boy con talk say " U don't have to get the new vacuum cleaner.. just get a celotape... wrap it around your hand and dab the floor from one place to another until you pick up all the dirt. You know the dirt will stick to the celotape"... see my life like rotten moi moi? na me them dey send up and down. na me them dey tok to like this all because I chose not to talk at work.... Na so i enter manager office go count my drawer while leaving the dirt and the vacuum there. The girl begin shout my name ... i no even answer am. What's up with this akatas seF? If you don quiet 4 work them go think say u be mugu... I delayed everyone until 7:20 p.m. Mind you I was told to vacuum at 6:30 p.m. If someone is being disrespectful and unnecessarily rude, I will not reciprocate.. I know just how to get on the person's neck sha.

FLASHBACKS

Nonsence and fried chicken!....I could recall the first time I travelled outside Nigeria. My uncle use to drop me off at the embassy and the hospital.. whether na st nicholas abi kamorass...i no remember sef. We got up at 6 am to meet up with our scheduled appointment... Abt 15-17 mins away from the hospital, we got stuck in a traffic and if we get there late, them go tell us to reschedule.. 4 where we go buy fuel when na beg we beg God before we got the one we got? The line was not moving at all.. My uncle got out of the car and walked about 5 mins away to find an okada. He came back and the car was where it was (stuck in traffic with me in the car). He just entered his car and ordered me to catch the bike to the hospital that he will meet me there when he gets out of the traffic..Na how i go take climb okada with mini skirt now? When u comot 4rm ur house with ur car, how u take know say u go need to board okada abi bus to get to your destination? ...

I no sabi turn sideways on okada but i was good with okada... (at least i go don plan 4rm my house say na okada i wan board). I got on it (thank God say i dey always wear short knicker regardless but this one too short)... As i climb the thing, skirt just open con reveal wetin eye no suppose see... (my full thighs were out for the world to see). Here I am trying not to let my chest touch the okada driver and my skirt don open... His fellow okada men were smiling. I was the one giving him the directions to the hospitall... as we enter one street na so one yeye thing scream "yeeeee ewo itan...omo ki lon happen" (see laps.. o baby wetin dey?) Na on top of bike i dey hear this i con turn my face begin direct olokada until i got to my destination.

as if that one no worst reach... I met the doctors ( 2 guys , 1 lady). Them begin examine my eye (u know cover one and read with the other from a distance n all that crap) .... Doctor A con tok say make i read something and i no see am. Him tok say something do my eye say him must examine me and see.. I said okay.. He told me to go to a corner in that room and I said okay. How old are you?, says doctor B...I'm 15 sir. You are a big girl, replied doctor B. Anyway, I went to the corner as instructed by doctor A. " take off your shirt!" says Doctor A. 4 where? .. wetin that one wan do now? How breast take relate to eyes my people and na only bra i wear underneath my blouse.. .e gbami o.... I said pardon me sir... take off your shirt so I can examine you. Na so him pull curtain like say him wan cover me from being seen by the other doctors. Oh yes he covered me.... from the female doctor's view .. the other yeye one dey look me somehow....Na so I comot shirt halfway waowwwwww, that's a really big girl, says doctor B aloud. I removed my blouse and laid on the bed with my hands on my chest. Na so doctor begin test my chest o... Jesus save me, how that one take connect to my eyes? Him put one thing 4 my eye con begin examine my belly....I don begin giff am bad look say come o u dey pass your boundary. Him begin blow garmmar for my head about wetin dey do him family (not me sha). He touches my lower belly and attempted to slip his hand into my skirt...... na so i hold him hand con stand up.. I know say test don finish now.. Even if him dey test me before... the test don finish and we both know it has.... I stood up and picked my blouse..and turned my back.. he's like sure u can dress up, we're done...HMMM 9ja doctors... them fit harass your pikin if you no dey there. I could not even narrate the incident to my uncle...I frowned until we got home that day...I got to school the next day and narrated the incident to my bf and my bf (best friend TJ and boy friend D1). ..... it was an unpleasant experience for me. Old man feeling on me... ewwww.

Okay I'm off to bed. I'm done ranting... it's not my thing.or shall I rant some more? lol ...oh well i cannot help but leave yall with something to hold on to. Do not question God or his works..

There was a young man who went overseas to study for quite a long time. When he returned, he asked his parents to find him a religious scholar or any expert who could answer his 3 Questions. Finally, his parents were able to find a Muslim scholar.

Young man: Who are you? Can you answer my questions?

Scholar: I am one of Allah (SubHana Wa Ta`ala )'s slaves and Insha-Allah (God willing), I will be able to answer your questions.

Young man: Are you sure? A lot of Professors and experts were not able to answer my questions.

Scholar: I will try my best, with the help of Allah(SubHana Wa Ta`ala). Young Man: I have 3 questions: 1. Does God exist? If so, show me His shape. 2. What is thaqdir (fate)? 3. If shaitan (Devil) was created from the fire, why at the end he will be thrown to hell that is also created from fire. It certainly will not hurt him at all, since Shaitan (Devil) and the hell were created from fire. Did God not think of it this far?

Suddenly, the Scholar slapped the young man's face very hard.

Young Man (feeling pain): Why do you get angry at me?

Scholar: I am not angry. The slap is my answer to your three questions.

Young Man: I really don't understand.

Scholar: How do you feel after I slapped you?

Young Man: Of course, I felt the pain.

Scholar: So do you believe that pain exists?

Young Man: Yes.

Scholar: Show me the shape of the pain!

Young Man: I cannot.

Scholar: That is my first answer. All of us feel God's existence without being able to see His shape... Last night, did you dream that you will be slapped by me?

Young Man: No.

Scholar: Did you ever think that you will get a slap from me, today?

Young Man: No.

Scholar: That is takdir (fate) my second answer........ My hand that I used to slap you, what is it created from? Young Man: It is created from flesh.

Scholar: How about your face, what is it created from?

Young Man: Flesh.

Scholar: How do you feel after I slapped you?

Young Man: In pain.

Scholar: Thats it. this is my third answer, Even though Shaitan (Devil) and also the hell were created from the fire, if Allah wants, insha-Allah (God willing), the hell will become a very painful place for Shaitan .
