100th Post

Yayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy Me!

This is my 100th Post

It took me two whole years to achieve this.

Let's drink to that.

I want to thank you all for all the love and support. I want to (specially) thank those that posted my "Show me the way" banner at a particular point of the year.

Compliments of the season Folks! Jesus is the reason for the season. Let's not forget to give him thanks.

I am blessed to be a part of the "blogsville experience." It's been a long year with so many good memories...blogsville idol 08, 14th and serenity, and so on.

I am thankful this season. I am very grateful to God because I believe I am very close to my breakthrough. How do I know this with all the trials I'm facing? Despite my being unemployed for the past 6 months (yes o...and i try but yall don't know how bad the economy is in MI); God has been faithful in my life. I have the best family and friends that support me with words of wisdom. I have been able to cope financially because I saved for rainy days. Now I am thoroughly broke and beautiful. I give thanks still.

I give thanks because 5 of my cousins are visiting (from ATL) for xmas. I have not seen them in 2 years. I have not even seen the baby of the house at all.

I give thanks for my mother. Although we've had our share of troubles this year, she's been a backbone for me. She's supportive and loving; she's the best. That's mom in the midst of some of her friends.

I give thanks because I have a wonderful man in my life. A man that will do anything (including swim through a river filled with hungry crocodiles) to put a smile on my face. `Just thinking about how much he cares and loves me makes life worth living. Yall know the feeling now...all you need to have is that one person and it feels like you have the whole universe.

I give thanks for Olamild Entertainments. I have come a long way and i couldn't have done it on my own. It all started in summer 2007 and we've accomplished so much. View OLAMILD GALLERIA to see pictures from past events.

I give thanks for my younger siblings. They are clowns and they light up my world. They rep 9ja and the yoruba culture any day any time. Somehow they manage to know how I am feeling even when i don't say so. When i do feel down and look down, they gang up and tease me....saying stuffs like it is well o my sister, Mr. prince charming will ask 4 your hand in marriage by this time next week. How can i stay down after hearing such words? hahahah

I give thanks for all my friends. I give special thanks for my girl Nay Nay. I just thank God for standing by her because it's not easy to be a single parent. I recall when she called to say she was getting married... how i thought it was too soon and when she called to say she was getting a divorce + she's pregnant. I recal the baby shower...she just looked like she had a basket ball inside her blouse lol ...she didn't gain any weight. It was a very tough phase but I thank God for her life and that of her baby Jaydn. I thank God for being faithful and standing by her throughout the whole situation. Look at them today. I love my lil God son.

I give thanks for the numerous talents bestowed on me. I give thanks for the opportunity I have had this year. I give thanks for the Redeemed Christian Church of God all over Michigan; they've given me the opportunity to share my music and minister to youths at different occasions. I specially thank the mountain of the lord parish and winner's chapel. That's (pink) me with the RCCG winner's chapel choir at Flavor of Praise , an event hosted by RCCG MOTL.

I give thanks for Yoruba Youth Corporation. We started in july 2008 and we've accomplished so much in less than 6 months. Our cultural dancers are the best. Click image to see website.

I give thanks for this baby girl Pelumi. I have been known to love babies. I actually witnessed the birth of this girl and it was a blessed experience so to say. I was scared to death because i had the video camera and was told to record. At one point, I sat down and fan myself even though it was and is winter time. uhmmm now I'm scared of giving birth. I still love babies o and this is my newest god daughter. She's a month old now. Bad old me! Them tell me to babysit.. i dey take pictures for where she dey sleep..

Alicia keys' No one (Yoruba Version) will be out before this year runs out...stay tuned lol

I give thanks for my motherland Nigeria...I gats to rep 9ja all the time...especially on Independence day. This was oct 1, 2008. You can take the gurls outta bush but u can't take the bush outta them.

I give thanks for you. Yes you! I give thanks because you are alive to read this post. I thank you for being there. Merry Xmas and Happy New Year in advance. See you in 2009.

Paying tribute...

This video was recorded 2 months ago. The drummer in white is my little brother and the one in red is my friend/co-founder of Yoruba Youth Corporation. We didn't even rehearse for this...you can even see my nappy hair. They just called me up and told me we needed to record a video- PAY TRIBUTE TO A NIGERIAN SISTER that passed on sometimes in April. This particular one is the second half of the video we recorded.

I am alive o my fellow bloggers.. `just busy with numerous events here and there. Have a blessed weekend. Happy Viewing!

PS: Special thanks to Mizz Opeke for letting me know about ONetrueMedia...I have been trying to upload videos for ages..

The Four Wives

Once upon a time, there was a king who had four wives. He loved the 4th wife the most and adored her with rich robes and treated her to the finest of delicacies. He gave her nothing but the best.

He also loved the 3rd wife very much and was always showing her off to neighboring kingdoms. however, he feared that one day she would leave him for another.

He also loved his 2nd wife. She was his confidant and was always kind, considerate, and patient with him. Whenever the king raced a problem, he could confide in her, and she would help him get through the difficult times.

The king's 1st wife was a loyal parter and had made great contributions in maintaining his wealth and kingdom. However, he did not love her. Although she loved him deeply, he hardly took notice of her!

One day the king fell ill and he knew his time was short. He thought of his luxurious life and wondered, I now have four wives with me, but when I die, I'll be all alone.

Thus he asked the 4th wife, "I loved you the most, endowed you with the finest clothing and showered great care over you. Now that I am dying, will you follow me and keep me company?"

"No way!" replied the 4th wife, and she walked out on him. Her answer cut like a sharp knife right into his heart.

The sad king then asked the 3rd wife, " I loved you all my life. Now that I am dying, will you follow me and keep me company?"

"Hell No!" replied the 3rd wife, "life is too good! When you die, I'm going to remarry!"

His heart sank and turned cold.

He then asked the 2nd wife, " I have always turned to you for help and you've always been there for me. When I die, will you follow me and keep me company?"

"I'm sorry, i can't help you out this time!" replied the 2nd wife. "At the most, I can only walk with you to your grave."

Her answer struk him like a bolt of lightning, and he was devastated.
Then a voice called out: "I'll go with you. I'll follow you no matter where you go."

The king looked up and there was his 1st wife. She was very skinny as she had suffered from malnutrition and neglect. Greatly grieved, the king said, "I should have taken much better care of you when I had the chance!"

In truth, we all have the 4 wives in our lives:

Our 4th wife is our body. No matter how much time and effort we lavish in making it look good, it will leave us when we die.

Our 3rd wife is our possessions, status, and wealth. When we die, it goes unto others.

Our 2nd wife is our family and friends. No matter how much they have been there for us, the furthest they can stay by us is up the grave.

Our 1st wife is our Soul. Often neglected in pursuit of wealth, power, and pleasures of the world. However, Our soul is the only thing that will follow us where we go.

Cultivate, strengthen, and cherish it now, for it is the only part that will follow us to the throne of God and continue with us throughout eternity.

Your Worth (for da ladies)

Women have strengths that amaze men.
They bear hardships and they carry burdens, but they hold happiness, love and joy.
They smile when they want to scream.

They sing when they want to cry.
They cry when they are happy
and laugh when they are nervous.
They fight for what they believe in.

They stand up to injustice.
They don't take "no" for an answer
when they believe there is a better solution.
They go without so their family can have.
They go to the doctor with a frightened friend.

They love unconditionally.
They cry when their children excel
and cheer when their friends get awards.
They are happy when they hear about
a birth or a wedding.

Their hearts break when a friend dies.
They grieve at the loss of a family member,
yet they are strong when they
think there is no strength left.

They know that a hug and a kiss
can heal a broken heart.
Women come in all shapes, sizes and colors.
They'll drive, fly, walk, run or e-mail you
to show how much they care about you.

The heart of a woman is what
makes the world keep turning.
They bring joy, hope and love.
They have compassion and ideas.

They give moral support to their
family and friends.
Women have vital things to say
and everything to give.

HOWEVER, IF THERE IS ONE FLAW IN WOMEN,
IT IS THAT THEY FORGET THEIR WORTH.

"A Woman was taken out of man; not out of his head to top him, nor out of his feet to be trampled underfoot; but out of his side to be equal to him, under his arm to be protected, and near his heart to be loved”....Ivan Panin

Dear God, I know most of my friends (bloggers) cannot attend the program I am attending (one that started yesterday and will last for 3 days) but I pray that shall be partakers of the blessing that will be released to all the attendees.
