Men of God are human beings (either men or women) and face the same challenges that other human beings face.
Some questions I think about are: Should a woman of God in an abusive marriage stay in the marriage until she is killed? Should a man of God whose wife keeps cheating on him remain married to the woman?
I think it all depends on the reason behind why the man of God wants the divorce...It is not God's will that people marry and divorce, but He sure wants His children to have peace and joy...
Let's keep praying for the marriage institution...
I think they should follow the word which basically says (as far as I understand it) that unless the case of adultery or unChristian behaviour in the partner (which would include battery I suppose) and no solution can be found...in short divorce is last-ditch thing and 'i just don't love you anymore' is not good enough.
hmmm. interesting question. if u ask me, i'd say 2 look @ these MOG like humans dat they really are. bad marriages can happen 2 anyone. i've a close family friend who had a pathetic experience. both him & his wife were fiery born again christains, but shit happened. they annulled d wedding, (cos there was no sex involved, even after 2 years of marriage). i mean, who would deny dis man a chance of future happiness just cos he made a mistake d first time around. am totally against pple being bound 2 marriage just because they have to. every other thing is dead, or n some cases violent or malicious yet "they can't divorce"! daz bullshit 2 me. everyone is all quick 2 judge pastors, forgetting dat these pple r just much human as us & can fuck up. God gives second chances, even n marriages.
@ afrobabe: it's better 2 judge marriages case by case & not generalising it as in 'he's a pastor, how can he do a thing like dat" ok, let's take 4 instance n a moment of weakness, he marries dis devil incarnate who is out 2 make his life impossible & destroy his ministry (as they say here n nigeria). wot den? he shld stick 2 dat marriage? he should b punished 4 d rest of his life cos he made a mistake? he should remain n dis marriage of untold unhappiness & misery? lord! being d product of a bad marriage, i can never wish dat on anyone!
