Think Like a Donkey

One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well.
The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do. Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the well needed to be covered up anyway; it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey.

He invited all his neighbours to come over and help him.
They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well.
At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly.
Then, to everyone's amazement he quieted down.
A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well.
He was astonished at what he saw.
With each shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing.

He would shake it off and take a step up.
As the farmer's neighbours continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal,
he would shake it off and take a step up. Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and happily trotted off!

Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt.
The trick to getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up.
Each of our troubles is a steppingstone.
We can get out of the deepest wells just by not stopping,
never giving up!

We can overcome problems by thinking like a donkey = Shake it off and take a step up

yeah! very well articulated. it's not easy to climb out though, especially when you don't expect to be buried alive by those you love and trust! but if only we can see that each problem has a solution. if only...

i wonder who was more surprised-
1. the donkey who was to buried alive?
2. the owner who witnessed the donkey climbing out of the well ALIVE?
3. the villagers who wasted effort?(assisting in shovelling dirt/sand/earth into the well in a bid to bury a friend's donkey and finally witnessing the donkey coming out alive)

...one will never know seeing Olamild nor the story went further than where it all ended.

It really must have been an uphill challenge considering the different prospects and saga that evetually evolved and unfolded before everybody's eyes.

from http://internetmoney50.wordpress.com/ I say CHEERS and to your SUCCESS!

the donkey was lucky the farmer couldn'tafford a caterpillar, for one shove of dirt from that machine would probably cover the ass in one pour!!

i guess thats why God moderates problems that come upon us.

i'll definitely remember '...shake it off and take a step up.'

cheers.

Now I'm just gonna spread this story to everyone that I come across. Makes so much sense!!! Beautiful. Why cry over spilled milk in this life? We must learn to use our problems as stepping stones...
